Under the sea

  • Posted on June 11, 2012 at 9:07 pm

This is a card which I was asked to make along a sea theme. I chose to use the fish and friends stamp set by inkadinkado and brayered the background in stampin up marina mist ink having roles the brayer over scrumpled paper to get the ripple effect. The card has a penny spinner fish along the bottom.

Christmas Trinitage

  • Posted on October 17, 2010 at 3:56 pm

My new christmas trinitage from La Pashe arrived this week and I had to have a go at using it.  I was really impressed with how quick and easy it was to make a great card so thought I would share the results.  This design was called “Train home at christmas” and I decorated the outside with some patterned christmas paper from a free Crafters Companion members Download.  These are great value at 50pence per sheet
and the results were really effective.

A Christening Wish

I make far too many cards than I can ever use so I sell some of them at work to raise money for Macmillan.  This is a card I made for a friend after a specific request for a christening card.  I have used the Christening Frame card from the Popcorn Platinum collection and mounted it onto an A5 card blank with one of the background papers from the cd rom and some of the greetings from the accessory sheets.  I then used the Ultimate Pro to make a box to store it in and decorated the top with the same backing paper as I used on the card.  I must admit I was really pleased with the results.

A Birthday Bear

Well, I am not doing very well with keeping this up to date so far.  Things have been so busy at work and I am beginning to get withdrawal symptoms from crafting!!  I have just purchased the Crafters Companion Make Christmas Cards Magazine and am itching to have a play with the free gifts.  I am also looking forward to seeing tonight’s launch of the new Beatrix Potter Winter’s Tale collection.

Here is a card I made a few weeks ago for Alan’s nephew Ben’s 7th birthday using an image from the Flower Soft Family Recipes CD rom and Flower soft ultra fine and polar white.  It was a quick make but I was really pleased with the finished product.

I have lots of pictures ready to post so will be back soon.

A Card for a Cat Lover

  • Posted on August 24, 2010 at 10:02 pm

This card is one I have made for my future mother in law’s birthday this week.  She loves cats and I really liked this personal impressions stamp set (Cats 1).  I took some inspiration from the feature in Making Cards magazine this month but added my own touches.  The main image has been cut and framed using nestabilities and the images have all been coloured using watercolour pencils.  The footprint paper is from my stash but was purchased originally from lili of the valley.

Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge 3

  • Posted on August 22, 2010 at 5:31 pm

As a big fan of Crafters Companion products I could not think of a better way to start my blog than by enterring the Crafters Companion monthly challenge.  I particularly love using the Popcorn the Bear and Cute Companions range of products and having received the Popcorn Platinum Collection for my birthday I was desperate to make  a card with my new goodies.

To create this card I have used the Floral Delight Stamp set and coloured the image with watercolour pencils.  The image is mounted onto Centura Pearl card and the backing paper has also been printed onto Centura Pearl paper.  I have used the nestabilities scalloped circles to produce my frames and have decorated the card with a glitter card border and some flower embellishments from my stash.

This blog is still very much a work in progress but I will be back soon with some more cards.

Welcome to my Blog!

Having followed and been inspired by many of the fantastic blogs out there I have finally decided to get involved and set up my own to showcase some of my cards.  I have been card making for several years now and love being able to create new designs and I hope to share some of these in the coming months.
